Rehana Shanks

Rehana started teaching in 1997 after completing her first degree at Glasgow
University and her PGCE(P) at the University of Paisley.
She started teaching in Ayrshire before moving to Edinburgh in 1999 working in
the city centre as a class teacher. In 2002 Rehana was seconded to Quality
Services as Science Support officer, during this time she started working on
research projects and writing for Local and National Curriculum developments. In
2004 Rehana took up post as Depute Headteacher at Dean Park Primary School.
During this time she completed her Masters in Educational Leadership and
Management with the Open University. Rehana lives in Edinburgh with her
husband and three young children. She is currently Headteacher at Dean Park Primary School in Balerno, Edinburgh
