Margaret is Convenor of SELMAS (Scottish Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society), and is currently working with colleagues as a consultant to support CPD and leadership development in schools and authorities.
A teacher for many years, Margaret was appointed the first Scottish National CPD Coordinator in 2004 and served in this post until July 2012. She developed and led the National CPD Network which creates opportunities for shared learning and collaborative approaches across Scotland. She has also led an International Thought-Leaders Programme which resulted in a number of innovative approaches to CPD such as the development of Learning Rounds, the coaching approach to headship development in the Flexible Routes programme, the 4-stage model, the Scottish International Summer Schools on School Leadership and much more.
